It was a warm and wonderful day for Glen Ellen Community Church on August 12th. First we celebrated our church anniversary of 118 years strong. The pews were full and the ceiling fans were whirling as Pastor Jim took us through photos of Glen Ellen and the church building from the mid 1800′s to the present. Then we learned from Scripture that to continue on and be God’s church in Glen Ellen in such a changing culture, we need to be grounded in the understanding of God’s Word and always seeking Him in prayer. We then lifted our voices with prayers of thanksgiving, stood and enthusiastically recited together “What We Believe” from our By Laws, and concluded with a great old Hymn of the faith.
After the first part of the church service, we all moved down the street to the home of Dan and Susie Snetsinger for the baptism of 9 friends! Certainly a great day for God’s family and ours at Glen Ellen Community Church!
