Do you see what I see?

What if you lived every day in the light of who God made you to be?  Maybe you don’t know who that person is, or maybe you’ve never given thought to the idea that you could be anything other than who you already are?  So, what if you started today? What if you began to purposely see yourself differently; to see yourself as God sees you?

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

When we accept Christ, we become a new creation; born again with a clean slate, and the Word tells us that all things have become new.  All things.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things he planned for us long ago.

You were created by Jesus, for Jesus (Colossians 1:16), to do the things he specifically planned for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).  He has made you a masterpiece.  Yet, you continue to see the person you established and formed before you gave yourself to the Lord.  Sure, you know your sins are forgiven and that you now have relationship with Jesus, but do you see yourself differently?  As a new creation?

God sees a person whom He loves, someone He created and did so with a purpose.  He sees someone perfect for the task ahead of them, intricately designed to fulfill His call.  He sees someone without  sin, full of joy, loving as He loves them, and equipped with everything they need to walk with Him and to do those things He has planned for them to do.  God sees someone unique, formed exactly the way He desired.  God is full of hope when He looks at you.  He sees past every perceived failure and flaw and He sees His very own masterpiece.

I pray you look for the masterpiece within you.  Cast down the thoughts of who you once were, or even who you were yesterday, and let yourself think on who He has created you to be.  See all that is good, lovely, honorable, pure, and worthy of praise.  Open your eyes and begin a new journey with Jesus.  Step off the path of failure, insecurity, and hopelessness, and take the path He has lit before you – the path that leads to your destiny in Him.  You don’t have to be who anyone expects you to be, not even who you expect yourself to be.  Choose something different today.  Choose Jesus in you and let His plan unfold before you. Do you see what God sees?

Philippians 4:8 – Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
